The Government recently announced the July Jobs Stimulus Plan which includes a range of supports to help businesses and employees get back to work.
The announcement confirmed that an Employment Wage Support Scheme will follow the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme in September. Under this new scheme, the state will part-pay the wages of seasonal staff and new hires as well as existing staff. Two other supports to avail of include an Apprenticeship Incentivisation Scheme that provides €2,000 to employers taking on new apprentices and recruitment subsidies of up to €7,500 over two years to support the hiring of employees aged under 30.
The Pandemic Unemployment Payment is also remaining in place until April 2021 which will be welcome news if you continue to experience temporary shortages of work. Your business may also be eligible to access various other recruitment incentives which could unlock some vital funding during these challenging trading conditions.
