Blue Insurances was established in October 2003 by Joint Managing Directors Ciaran Mulligan and Rowan Devereaux, initially focusing on the travel insurance market through Travel Trade.

Within a year Blue Insurances became the leading supplier of travel insurance through the Travel Trade in Ireland. In March 2005, it opened it's UK office and commenced operations within the UK and Northern Ireland. Blue Insurances has been voted Best Travel Insurance Supplier in Ireland since 2005 and was voted Best Travel Insurance Supplier in Northern Ireland in 2008.
